Archipop

This exceptional evening, on the theme of sport, with projection of amateur films on giant balloons, will take place on the lawns of the Hotel d'Émonville and will be proposed by Archipop and the Abbeville Archives. The town of Abbeville, the association Archipop and the Baie de Somme Picardie maritime Regional Natural Park, have set up a project to collect, safeguard and enhance audiovisual and sound film archives. More than 500 supports have been collected. Come discover these nuggets on an original support!

The Hotel of Emonville, old(former) mansion of the family Foucques d' Emonville, built in 1861, shelters Archives and the patrimonial Library(Bookcase) of Abbeville today. The establishment keeps(preserves) more than 160 000 documents, among which of incomparable treasures: The Gospels of Saint-Riquier, remarkable Carolingian manuscript (VIIIth century); the Charter of municipality of Abbeville (1184); pontifical letters (XIIth century); the City(Estate) of God, incunabulum printed by Pierre Gérard to Abbeville (1486); the Évangéliaire de Saint-Vulfran (XVth century) and its big(great) illuminations of Flemish influence.
