The church of Rimaucourt is listed in the inventory of historical monuments, it is part of the communal heritage for 900 years. It is necessary to ensure continuity in order to transmit this beautiful building to future generations.
The members of the heritage committee propose to show the first restoration works of the church (consolidation of the belfry, recovery of certain frames and ceilings of the aisles). Work on the chancel and sacristy will begin in October. Two exhibitions will also be available: one on the history of the church of Saint-Pierre Saint-Paul which will be commented and another on the missions of the heritage foundation.
The visits will take place on reservation at the town hall of Rimaucourt.

Built in the heart of a former 12th century Benedictine priory, the church of Rimaucourt was strongly transformed in the 19th century. It was the Duchess Decrès, owner of the castle, who undertook at her own expense a major restoration of the church between 1838 and 1841 to facilitate its access to the inhabitants of the castle.
Among the peculiarities of this Romanesque church remodelled in the nineteenth century, a new choir took the place of the old entrance on the west facade and thus, the square sanctuary of the east facade (road side) was removed, the exterior bays were enlarged and a false ceiling was arranged below the aisles unfortunately hiding the magnificent bays of the upper floors that gave the church all the charm of the Romanesque style.
The church currently suffers from many structural disorders. The town hall decided to restore it and signed an agreement with the heritage foundation to launch an online subscription.
