They were in poor condition and could have disappeared under the repeated attacks of xylophagous insects: two polychrome wooden statuettes, classified as an object in the supplementary inventory of the Historical Monuments in 1963, have just benefited from a restoration supported by the City of Langres, with the help of the DRAC Grand Est and the Conseil départemental de la Haute-Marne. As part of this flash tour, a guide from the Heritage and Inventory Service of the City of Langres retraces the main stages of the restoration operations and the discoveries made on these two rare testimonies of popular devotion preserved in the church of Brevoines.

The chorus(choir) of the church of Nativité-de-Notre-Dame dates most probably the second half of the 12th century. The nave could also date of this time(period) or at least of medieval time(period), but would have later been altered at the level of bays(berries). The building is registered in conformance with(for) historic monuments in 1925\. The abbot Roussel mentions repairs made in the church in 1725 and specifies that the nave was rebuilt in 1820 and in 1833\. It would rather be necessary to understand(include) that she(it) was twice restored in these dates, in particular in 1833 when a vault and walls collapsed. The west part(party) of the nave topped with the bell tower is a probable addition of the first half of the 16th century as the bay(berry) of the northwest angle certifies it. This space was indicated(appointed) under the name of Saint-Renobert, because an altar devoted to this saint had been established there in the 16th century.
