This structure was used to embark and disembark the goods. It was also the landing place of the ferry connecting Saint-Benoît and Guilly. In 1840, the material of the ferry consists of two oak boats of 8.80 m and 9.40 m long. The same year, a plan was made to set up a landing site for the steamboats of the Loire. In 1851, there is mention of the house of the smuggler in the right of the hold which still remains today.
