The history of the castle, its architecture and its powerful lords, allied to the European kings, will have no secrets for you.
The guided tour will allow you to know the origin of the castle and its millenary keep. You will finally know if the ditches of the fortified square, with an enclosure flanked by 7 towers, contained water and why the keep is deprived of its roof and its floors.
You will discover the epic Rotrou, founder of the county of Perche, then will be evoked the great families owner of the castle: the Bourbons-Condé, including the 1st prince of Condé and the wars of religion, not forgetting the minister of king Henri IV, the Duke of Sully and his wife Rachel de Cochefilet...
With this stroll in the high courtyard, between the keep, towers and main building of the Renaissance, you will discover 1,000 years of history.
Guided tours by Gwénaëlle Hamelin and Anne-Laure Boiteux
