Old(Former) fortified town of Hundred Years' War in the middle of the rests of its village. Vestiges of construction of the XIIth century. Gadelière is a "strong house" built for the defence of the inhabitants of the village nestled around the church and around the banal oven. Foundations served in the construction of the big(great) farm of breeding typical of the XIXth century. The Castle of Gadelière celebrates 500 years of its first restoration(catering). Built before the war by Hundred Years within the village of Gadelière, the Castle was the theatre of clashes during the XVth century and The Sling(Revolt). He(It) stays implanted within the village of Gadelière in which remains(subsists) the parish church, the house of ovens with bread and the surrounding wall(speaker) of the village preserved by construction on its ruins of a big(great) farm squared in the middle of the XIXth century. This confirmation of the historic past of Gadelière allowed to Mr Prefect de La Région Centre to accept the registration(inscription) of the title of the Historic monuments of the whole site of Gadelière of April 25th, 2016\. It was certified by recent studies of the building led by a chief architect des Monuments Historique and a dendrochronologie. The name of this old(former) village, including several hamlets in surroundings, calls back(reminds) its importance during the period of Hundred Years' War in the defence system against the English people who occupied Verneuil-sur-Avre.
