Musée des Ponts et Chaussées
RD 34 Domaine de La Chesnaye 36150 Guilly
The "Ponts et Chaussées", succeeded by the Equipment, is one of the oldest administrations in France. It built public infrastructure and developed the French territory. Its competences and fields of action have been very varied, from roads to tunnels, from ports to waterways, from meteorology to civil aviation and from town planning to driving licences. The Musée des Ponts et Chaussées et de l'Équipement retraces the history and richness of its collections and today makes it a unique museum in its kind in France and without real competition in Europe. 2,500m² of exhibition in the special setting of the experimental farm built by Ferdinand de Lesseps in 1854.
