The theatre company La Lune Blanche, based in Vendôme, received this year a label «Cultural Olympiad» and financial support from the Ministry for the staging of Lucie Depaux’s contemporary play «Lilli/ Heiner intra-muros» dedicated to the journey of Lilli, a former GDR swimmer, victim of intensive doping formerly practiced in East Germany. The girl’s body was transformed under the effect of hormones, injected without her knowledge, and the suffering caused by testosterone was so great that she made the choice to become a man under the eyes of a single mother who was doing what she could, always believing in doing the right thing. The story is revealed through the evocation of a trial that highlighted a mass doping system organized by the East German State.
