This exhibition is a comparison of contemporary creation with the painting of the Morin Museum-Hotel The truth coming out of the well - Nec Mergitur painted by Édouard Debat-Ponsan in 1898. Personal interpretation of the Dreyfus affair, this canvas lists many symbols of the society of the moment mixed with those of the history of painting. In this sense, three plastic artists, Guillaume Constantin, Jérémy Laffon and Claire Trotignon combined their work and proposed an updated narrative marked by ambiguity between the true and the false. The exhibition Nec Mergitur projects the historical and formal aims of the painting towards stories rewritten by the experimenters and inventors that are contemporary artists.

  • Indre-et-Loire
  • Centre-Val de Loire
The Garage has the will to offer a window of curiosity, discovery and topicality on the visual arts and contemporary creation.
Mediation is part of the essence of the project, with the will to share, exchange, and debate with the public. The Garage is 340 m2 of exhibition space, a preserved industrial character, a bright glass roof in the direction of the royal castle and a garden at the back, with vegetable hedges, climbing roses and the work of Alexander Calder, the Crinkly (1969), on deposit from the National Plastic Arts Centre.
Located in the heart of the city, at the corner of rue Racine and rue du Général Foy, close to the Royal Castle and Clos Lucé, Le Garage is open to all. Three exhibitions are scheduled during the year.
