From sheet to paper: Sculptured metamorphoses
Plastic artists Pascale Harlé and flO metamorphose paper at their fingertips. Pascale Harlé creates papers based on natural or recycled elements that she shapes and transforms into diaphanous sculptures, busts or faces, all in transparency and lightness. The arachnean leaves, vegetal laces, are transformed into goddesses, forest spirits, books objects from between two worlds… One piece of paper meets another, and now improbable bonds are being forged… flO rolls paper in farandole. Forms of plant inspiration emerge from a repetitive gesture repeated thousands of times. I love those lonely hours, those hours when my fingers are dancing, which are just mine. Often my mind escapes and takes me elsewhere to distant, imaginary lands… I am only one link in this chain, a part of my life is there, in these pieces of paper, which come alive under my fingers." – flO
