The Abbey of Saint-Pierre de Baume-les-Messieurs is a former Benedictine abbey that nestles in the hollow of the most famous of the Jura remote. The abbey church contains real masterpieces: Burgundian statuary of the fifteenth century, lying in the chapel of the tombs, Flemish altarpiece of the sixteenth century. The abbey can be visited freely throughout the year & guided tours are scheduled every day during the school holidays, and continuously from April to the end of September. In addition, many events (concerts, conferences, theater..) and exhibitions (Art & crafts) are organized during the summer period.
