The Courbet museum, in Ornans, opened its doors to the public on July 2nd, 2011, after three working years. A quadrupled surface, a resolutely modern stage design, an opening on the landscapes which so much inspired the master(teacher) of Realism... This museum pays tribute to the son(daughter) of the soil. It joins large project "Country of Courbet, country of artist" carried by the Department of the Doubs.
