Saturday 16 September: 10:30 am, children’s workshop from 6 to 10 years; 2:30 pm, children’s workshop from 11 to 16 years.

Located in a mansion of the XVIIth century, the museum of Saulieu evokes, by the variety of its collections, the history(story) of the city(estate) and of its region. Ancient "Sidolocum" and its Gallo-Roman steles, sacred art (sculptor, liturgical objects and precious "Évangéliaire" thinks of Charlemagne), arts and popular traditions welcome the visitor at the ground floor. The floor is devoted to the sculptor François Pompon (1855-1933) and to his work, his youth works, figurines and portraits and his(her,its) famous animals which revealed his talent. A room devoted to gastronomy and to his big Chiefs Alexandre Dumaine (1895-1974) and Bernard Loiseau (1951-2003) calls back(reminds) the always current reputation of Saulieu, city stage.
