Designed in the middle of the 17th century in a Louis XIII style by the city’s architect, Simon Maupin, the Lyon City Hall is organized around two courtyards and a belfry. In addition to its remarkable classical architecture, increased in the 19th century, it has sumptuous decoration and painted ceilings of origins, to the glory of the city. Today it is considered one of the most remarkable historical monuments of Lyon.
