It was at the beginning of the 16th century that Jehan Camus arrived in Lyon and joined the community of merchant bankers which included many foreigners, especially Florentines. The latter introduce to Lyon the fashion of the "house of the fields", field in the countryside to enjoy the fresh air, in the pretty sites close to the city.
From 1530, Jean Camus and his son Antoine built a large house with colonnaded galleries on 3 levels, overlooking vast gardens that would later become horticultural lands. These characters will be Echevins, Treasurer and notaries of the King.
The Petit Perron has, fortunately, kept the general look of the 16th century: body of buildings in U on courtyard of the commons, large courtyard in the East on which opens the facade with three levels of loggias with arches and columns in golden stone. The garden terraces also partly remain.

It was at the beginning of the 16th century that Jehan Camus arrived in Lyon and joined the community of merchant bankers which included many foreigners, especially Florentines. The latter introduce in Lyon the fashion of the «house of the fields», a field in the countryside allowing to enjoy the open air, in the beautiful sites close to the city. From 1530 Jean Camus and his son Antoine, built a large house with a gallery facade with colonnades on 3 levels, dominating large gardens that later became horticultural lands. These characters will be Treasurers of King Francis I, Butler of the King, Notary of the King, Councillors of Catherine of Medici. They partly financed the ransom paid for the liberation of Francis I, then, very largely, the Italian wars, and the policy of creation of present-day France, under Henry II and Charles IX. The Petit Perron has kept the general look of the 16th century: body of U-shaped buildings on the common courtyard, large courtyard of honour in the East
