The Lyon Sud Hospital is a university hospital campus covering 80 hectares, associated with the Lyon-Sud Faculty of Medicine and the Clémenceau Nursing Training Institute. It resulted from the merger (1979) of the Jules Courmont and Sainte-Eugénie hospitals - long devoted to the treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis - into a single general hospital of proximity and recourse. Its development, for 30 years, has been ensured by a vast modernization company with the successive implantation of buildings between the two historic sites: surgical pavilion (3A) in 1980, medical building (BMT-3B) in 1992, urology pavilion-nephrology-hemodialysis (3C) in 2004, biology center in 2008, medical pavilion (1D) in 2009 and extension of the Marcel Bérard pavilion (1G) in 2011.
