The game of the Cartusians
The Cartusians game is a card game designed by Studio Idaë to enhance and transmit the memory of the village of Sainte-Croix en Jarez. «Cartusiens» is the name of the inhabitants. This project was initiated by the association for the safeguarding of the old Chartreuse of the village and supported by Saint-Etienne Métropole, Pays d'Art et d'Histoire and the Cité du design de Saint-Etienne as part of the European project Human Cities SMOTIES*.
During the weekend of the European Heritage Days of 16 and 17 September 2023, the game of the Cartusians will be presented and broadcast. Game sessions will punctuate the event and the «Livre des Cartusiens» will be presented in addition to the game.
See you on Saturday, September 16 at Sainte-Croix-en-Jarez at 11 am for the presentation of the book and the Jeu des Cartusiens, followed by the glass of friendship.
On Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 September afternoon, game demonstration under marquees or in the Council Hall.

*The Human-Cities-SMOTIES project is a European project (2020-2024) supported by the Creative Europe programme. It relies on participatory design to involve the inhabitants of rural areas in the development of cultural and creative activities. This approach, shared by 10 European partners including Cité du design-ESADSE, is based on co-design workshops, masterclasses and publications.
