La Guill' through its postcards: evolution of the Guillotière district through its frame from postcards and photographs. Exhibition realized by the Council of Quartier Guillotière in June 2021. This exhibition aims to raise awareness of the existing heritage and the evolution of our district Guillotière. The built heritage, from previous eras, has been constantly reused, diverted by the following generations, constantly invested, reinvented, sometimes destroyed because deemed not reusable, but also enriched by new constructions in each era. A look at the different times of the Guillotière district allows us to see the existing as possessing its own values (material, social, cultural…) at a given moment but also in its potential to adapt to time and uses. Evidence of «everyday life», these heritage elements are symbols and landmarks for the spaces of everyday life today, they contribute to a strong attachment of the inhabitants for their district of Guillotière. The exhibition, based on testimonies, mainly old postcards, compares photos of current buildings.
