In 2023, the City of Firminy pays tribute to Eugène Claudius-Petit, deputy mayor of Firminy but also politician of national importance, since the creation of the CNR (National Council of the Resistance) under the impetus of General de Gaulle, until he became Minister of Reconstruction.
