From one war to another through Art: 14-18 & 39-45 .
The exhibition that began in July 2014 to commemorate the centenary of the beginning of the Great War through the art of the hairy and correspondences is currently continuing until 2025 to revive the memory of the fighters and resistants of 39-45. This is always through writing and decorative art. It presents among other things about 2000 decorated sockets, a popular art that was very popular throughout France from 1914 to 1945. A private collection resulting from research on more than 30 years and which would be one of the largest in France on this theme. Decorative objects created by a manual work that has been lost nowadays but which was then very shared by the population... : outstanding craftsmen for multiple techniques: pushed sockets, chiseled sockets, cut sockets, braided sockets, painted sockets, and even sockets engraved by the methods of the master glassmakers of Nancy ... Objects that have gone from family objects linked to memories to, now, real art objects that can revive these tragic periods where European poulation was plunged. Objects to be preserved for the future because they connect us to our History. (Attention the presentation is located in a secure but restricted municipal space, the space available is limited and does not allow, alas, to accommodate more than a dozen people at a time ... )
