Built on the site of the former Michelin employee cooperative (SOCAP), the Coopérative de Mai is located on Place du 1er Mai, at the intersection of rue Serge-Gainsbourg (the first in France, inaugurated in 2003) and rue du Clos-Four. The building includes a large room (from 850 seats to 1,500 standing seats), a small room («La Petite Coopé», or «the Club») with 460 standing places, a bar, six dressing rooms for artists, as well as a restaurant.
