Exhibition "They arrive tomorrow" - Home of 25 families of harkis in 1962
The exhibition "They arrive tomorrow" occupies 3 levels in the 17th century castle located in the heart of the village. It traces through written documents, videos, photos, everyday objects, the arrival at Ongles of 25 families of harkis in 1962. The MHeMO created in 2008 in these premises is part of a circuit of discovery of the village and its surroundings: the site of the old village recently renovated and enhanced, the old hamlet forestage located on a hill overlooking the village as well as the hamlet of the Rock (1.5 km) hosting artists' workshops. The municipality and the association of the Friends of the MHeMO mobilize to transmit the memory of this particular history from a human point of view and to highlight this heritage in the respect of the environment and the search for sustainable tourism activities.
