The church of Cizay-la-Madeleine is an architectural ensemble that has known several periods of construction in the XIII, XV, XVIII and XIX centuries. It is dedicated to Saint-Denis. It houses rich furniture and wall paintings depicting Saint Catherine and Saint Maxence, dating from the second half of the thirteenth century and which are still visible in the lower room of the bell tower. The church of Saint-Denis has a unique nave rebuilt in 1863-1865 by the architect Charles Joly-Leterme, and retains a flat sanctuary of two bays raised at the beginning of the thirteenth century. It was added to the additional inventory of Historical Monuments in 1972.
