Visit Saint-Germain church (11th to 15th century)
Located on the steep ridge overlooking the valley, north of the village, the primitive church was built in the 11th century not far from a powerful castle destroyed in late 1049. It is indeed on this ridge of difficult access, that the Duke of Normandy, William the Conqueror, at the call of Henry I King of France, won his first victory in a battle against Geoffroi Martel, Count of Anjou. It is recognizable by its bell tower. Built in the 12th century, the choir marks the beginning of the construction that will end in the 16th century. The figures of the shrines date back to Romanesque times. Léglise was classified as a Historical Monument in 1909 and named a welcoming church in Anjou. Behind the church in the cemetery, a lantern of the dead is built near an ossuary. This 10 meter high building is one of the last in Anjou.
