Dating from the 11th century and classified as a historical monument, it was originally the tower of the old church. During the revolution, the patriots of La Cropte, gathered around the notary and the mayor, used it as a watchtower to watch the possible arrival of the Chouans. Ammunition was amassed in the tower for fighting.
