An exceptional visit-discovery of the city hall, its historical objects, archives and works of art.
On February 28, 1960, the new City Hall was inaugurated at the end of the official phase of the Reconstruction. A symbolic date in commemoration of the incendiary bombing of February 28, 1943. The building is strongly staged in the perspective of the avenue of the Republic, accompanied by its square. The visit takes you to discover the main rooms, the history of the building and its operation.
Highlight of the visit: elected officials welcome visitors in the room of the city council. They will exchange with visitors on their role in the life of the city.
The wedding hall will unveil its new works: two tapestries of Aubusson, UNESCO World Heritage, signed by Picart-le-Doux. The final of the course has a nice surprise in store.
Come and discover the Archives, custodians of the memory of the place and of municipal activity. The archivists will present you with documents bearing witness to 400 years of continuity and evolution of municipal activity. You can also discover their careers and discuss with them the importance of archives in the life of a city.
