Walk to discover the fauna and flora of the wetlands around the Cens and the quarries of the Côte d'Or
1.5 km about the way, from the Gaudinière park to the confluence with the Erdre
Le Cens is a small jewel of biodiversity that crosses the city... During this walk, you will have the opportunity to discover the many facets of this diversity... Protected species, common species but essential for the functioning of the river, plants that are consumed or that care, from the small aquatic insect to the otter of Europe through the webbed newt or other amphibians, there is something to be interested in! An ideal walk to take a new look at the nature that surrounds us... even in the city!
This walk will pass through the "Côte d'Or", a secluded area between the racetrack, the Cens, farmland exploited until the 1970s. First occupied by quarries and then by traminots (from the creation of the Morrhonnière depot in 1913): presentation of the history of the district and the quarry fronts still visible by the association of the Côte d'Or….
RDV Saturday 17 September at 2pm, at the bottom of the Parc de la Gaudinière, at the Pont du Cens.
