Die 1115 gegründete Abtei von Cadouin wurde 119 dem Zisterzienserorden angegliedert. Aus dieser Zeit sind die Abteikirche und die romanische Basis der Klostergebäude erhalten. Der spätgotische Kreuzgang zeugt von der Pracht, die die Abtei Ende des 15. Jahrhunderts wiedererlangt hat. Founded in 1115, the abbey of Cadouin is affiliated to the Cistercian order in 119. From this period remains the abbey church and the Romanesque base of conventual buildings. The cloister, in flamboyant Gothic style, testifies to the splendour of the abbey at the end of the 15th century. The architectural richness of the cloister and its sculpted decoration make it a universal, unchanging and serene place.
