The former Guîtres station was built around 1875 by the Charentes Railways. This station has the appearance of a bourgeois house: it fulfils both its function as a station and that of accommodation for the station manager and his family. The station now belongs to the municipality of Guîtres, which entrusted it to the Association des bénévoles du train (Association des Amis du Chemin de Fer de la Vallée de l'Isle).
