Come and discover the Braquenié manufacture, a place where tapestries from Aubusson and soap carpets have been produced for nearly 100 years.

Archives and visit of the places will allow you to rediscover the activity of this company having worked especially for the Emperor Napoleon III.
The Braquenié brothers developed their presence in Aubusson in 1859 with a large-scale project on a site where there was already a carpet factory and a dye factory. They nevertheless drew up the plans for a new carpet factory series which was built in 1860. Thanks to the artisans present in the workshops you will discover all the subtleties of the technique of weaving and dyeing wool.

The building of the weaving workshops of the manufacture, in whole, and the looms of high smooth preserved on the ground floor in the workshops of manufacture of the carpets known as of La Savonnerie, the smooth bass looms and spool rack in the first floor workshop, spool racks and racks containing the woollen skeins from the woollen store on the second floor (Cad. AH 359), have all been classified as Historic Monuments since 2013.
