Free visit of the Musée des Automates de Falaise
The free visit makes it possible to discover by walking in a Parisian street reconstituted a collection of more than 300 animated automatons that were exhibited for the Christmas celebrations between 1920 and 1960 in the windows of the Parisian Department Stores such as Galeries Lafayette, La Samaritaine, Le Bon Marché and Le Magasins du Louvre. The visit takes you into the heart of the golden age of automata in a museum that is meant to be immersive.
More than 10 different scenes are proposed, each having been created by the Ateliers Roullet-Decamps (in Paris) and previously imagined by the famous illustrators Peynet, Dubout and Effel. They found their inspiration in current events of their time and added a poetic, magical or burlesque touch. The Automata Museum offers passers-by a journey through time and space to dream with these fabulous window-dressing actors and relive the magic of another era.
