The guided tour takes you behind the scenes of this centre of resources and expertise in preventive conservation, its workshop for the restoration of easel paintings and its scientific imaging studio. We will mention in particular the actions of GASP, the Heritage Disaster Assistance Group, which acts to safeguard cultural property in the event of fire, flood or occurrence of any disaster in the heritage institutions.
La Fabrique de patrimoines en Normandie is a Public Institution of Cultural Cooperation (EPCC) for the knowledge, enhancement, conservation and restoration of ethnological and museographic heritages in Normandy. Its missions are organized around three poles:

• the Museum Network,
• the Ethnopole
• and Le Labo, conservation, restauraiton & scientific imaging.
  The latter has a sector of research applied to the preservation of heritage and carries out advisory, assistance, training and information missions and provides examination, diagnosis, preventive conservation and conservation-restoration of easel paintings and graphic documents. The Fabrique de patrimoines in Normandy has state-of-the-art equipment for scientific imaging. This equipment enables a series of reviews to be conducted on the heritage properties entrusted to it. These images reveal the material history of the objects and refine our knowledge of the objects to specify the acts of restoration, as part of scientific studies or operations of valorization.
