Church of Saint-Aubin de Croissanville
A collegiate church of six canons was established in 1352. The bell tower, surmounted by a bulbous shrine, was called the Tower of the Monks by the inhabitants.
At the beginning of the 20th century, the building became the church of the commune: a second bell tower was then built in the centre of the roof. The monument has the particularity of having two bell towers.
The church, made of Caen stone, has been extensively renovated over the centuries. The choir is the oldest part. It ends with a polygonal bedside: each panel is lit by a window with two trilobed bays (in the shape of a clover) surmounted by a rose with five lobes, a classical arrangement in the fifteenth century.
Inside, the fir wood vault is in inverted hull: it has the shape of an overturned boat hull. The original ceiling collapsed in 1944 during the bombing of the bridge near the church. It was the carpenter of the town who rebuilt it in 1953, hence its modern style which nevertheless respects the tradition of Romanesque architecture.
At the beginning of the 20th century, Lechartier became a priest in the parish of Croissanville.
