The garden of plants descends from the botanical garden founded by doctors in Rouen in 1735\. To reestablish it, the city acquired in 1832 the former Trianon park and installed the garden there in 1836\. This is a mixed garden with a landscaped part equipped with a set of production greenhouses, a kiosk and factories, and a regular part, with large greenhouse, pond, orangery. This garden is both a neighborhood garden and a botanical garden where activities for the preservation of a plant heritage, experimentation and teaching are carried out. At the end of the main axis, the axial greenhouses preceded by a step are backed by a masonry background wall, they include a central pavilion with vertical facades organized in horizontal registers and lateral greenhouses. They were built between 1839 and 1842, and restored in 1999\.
