Demonstration: The print from design to production - Engraving and printing / Sound and image creation
The print from design to production - Engraving and printing by artist Jack Guerrier/ Sound and image creation by Didier Debril
Jack Guerrier will perform before the public the engraving of the linoleum to be printed by the process of stamping. He will explain the different stages of his long artistic practice for 4 decades. He will present tools and materials, references in the history of art and will address the different techniques of engraving. At regular intervals, he will read passages from Jean-Yves Langlois' work "Graver à dessein". The public will be able to discover prints made by the artist, at the same time that they will be able to go to the exhibition dedicated to him at the gallery Résonances https://www.galerieresonances.com. The artist’s various works are visible on his blog https://le-livreur-solitaire.over-blog.com/
Didier Debril will explain the different steps to create an experimental video from Jack Guerrier’s engravings. The goal is to use a music software widely used by musicians and composers of current music and that allows the processing of videos with visual effects, but by diverting these tools to lead to experimental and artistic video creation. The idea will be to give meaning to video shots made in the engraver’s workshop but also as part of the presentation of Jack Guerrier. And more precisely by giving movement to the multiple lines, sinusoidal, interlaced, engravings of Jack Guerrier.
