It was by chance that Joseph-Félix Bouchor (1853-1937) discovered the Rouen region and its green landscapes in Normandy in 1880; at that time he was still only a young painter little known and in search of success. After a bohemian and adventurous life, he moved to Freneuse in 1886 to study rural life and Norman landscapes.
Conference hosted by Lionel Dumarche, former research fellow at the Regional Conservation of Historical Monuments - DRAC Haute-Normandie, author of the book Bouchor, the painter of Freneuse at the editions du Point de vues, 2013.
