Raise your eyes! Dear Odon / And pop! at the castle – Le Neubourg festival
Dear Odon
JEAN-CHRISTOPHE BLONDEL
A historical comedy to end some commonplace on the year 1000
College theater (from the 5th) and high school
Adélice must close this night an article on Odon de Bayeux, figure of the Middle Ages, brother of William the Conqueror, man of power and church reputed violent, uneducated and unscrupulous. She falls from fatigue… and finds herself in front of him. He came to defend himself from the calumnies and commonplaces that flourish against him and against his time. Confrontation of two visions of politics: war, justice, religion, art, love…
The night becomes the magical moment of a great game, but also of a mutual discovery and a nascent complicity. In the early morning, he who was so foreign to us will have taught us a lot about himself and about ourselves.
A show designed to be performed in medieval heritage places such as the abbeys of Normandy, both as part of the public programming of these places, and in that of educational actions around school programs on the Middle Ages.
