Collective exhibition The Fugitive
Since 1987, the Centre d'art contemporain d'Ivry - le Crédac has welcomed emerging and established artists, both French and foreign, who testify to the diversity of current practices. Since 2011, the art center is located on the top floor of the American building of the Manufacture des Œillets. This industrial heritage jewel built in 1913 on the model of the Daylight Factory, in glass and steel, is one of the first manifestations of functionalism in France.
The Fugitive is the title that Marcel Proust originally gave to the 6th volume of Looking for lost time. The collective exhibition at the Crédac gives body to the character of Albertine and is constructed as a journey from the domestic space of the girl to the real and fantasized environments that in the book are hidden from the eyes of the narrator.
With the works of: Chantal Akerman, Mélissa Boucher, Pauline Boudry/ Renate Lorenz, Cécile Bouffard, Anne Bourse, Marc-Camille Chaimowicz, Jean de Sagazan, Marcel Devillers, Tirdad Hashemi & Soufia Erfanian, G.B. Jones, Ana Jotta, Marie Laurencin, Autumn Ramsey, Lena Vandrey, Zoe Williams.
