Originally intended to be a «centre of show and seminar», the ensemble formed by the Theatre and the MumEd was revised from the beginning of its construction to integrate a media library in place of the seminar centre. Its glass, concrete and metal facade of six large monumental bays opens onto the commercial heart of the Saint-Quentin district. Mumed owes its name to the building’s two functions: Museum and Media Library. Two uses that were not originally planned, the building having been originally envisaged to be a convention center. Today, with the theatre, they form the major cultural hub in the hyper-centre. An exploration of places and their backstage.
