Opening for the first time to the public as part of the Heritage Days, the Archives of the Police Prefecture within the Heritage Department of the Memory and Cultural Affairs Service, manage the current archives, intermediate and final produced or received, whatever the medium, in the exercise of the activities of the Prefecture. Under an agreement signed with the Service Interministériel des Archives de France (SIAF) in 2011, the archives of the Prefecture of Police enjoy an autonomy of management, conservation and valorization. Kept in the interest of the administration and the public, they are open to the public (general public and professionals) in compliance with the communicability deadlines provided by the Heritage Code. Base of the institution’s memory, inexhaustible source of information on the operation and activities of the Paris Police Prefecture, the archives consist of more than 10 km of documents, images and printed works, accessible in the reading room located at Pré Sa
