Guided tour of the Prisunic exhibition, design for all
Created in 1931, Prisunic stores developed in the 1960s the sale of modern furniture that had profoundly contributed to the democratization of design. Sold on catalogues from 1968 to 1976, this furniture has become emblematic of a period in full cultural change. It is the work of experienced or emerging designers, brought together by the same ambition to design functional, elegant and inexpensive objects, in accordance with the philosophy of the brand summarized under the slogan «the beautiful at the price of the ugly».
Explore the history of objects presented in the exhibition «Prisunic, design for all»: designed by famous or anonymous designers, familiar or extraordinary, they tell us about the industrial, cultural, domestic and aesthetic turning point of the 1960s and 1970s.
