Guided tour of the Lycée Jacques-Decour
Guided tour of the Lycée Jacques-Decour
Built between 1867 and 1876, with its four courtyards, its kilometres of corridors on four levels, this school is architecturally one of the richest in Paris.
The course of about an hour allows to understand the history of the Lycée Jacques-Decour, and to discover its heritage, from the fresco of Alfred Lop-Montel in the Grand Parloir, to the old Library, through the Cour d'honneur with its commemorative plaques and the statue of Charles Rollin, the Museum, the Theatre and the Chapel and its organ…
The documents presented in the Museum and in the Grand Parloir provide information about Charles Rollin, its founder, and Daniel Decourdemanched known as Jacques Decour, whose establishment bears the name.
It is also an opportunity to recall his most illustrious teachers and students.
Be careful, the visit has many steps.
