Massy’s opera is a pleasant and modern architectural ensemble founded and directed in 1993 by Jack-Henri Soumère. As the first structure to be labeled «lyric conventionalized scene», Massy’s opera is today asserted as a place of reference artistic production and participates in a cultural development action on a regional scale. Resolutely modern room (work of "A02A Architects"), it is integrated into the center of a cultural center of 14 200 m² by bringing together the traditional rules of construction of large scenes and the application of advanced techniques both architectural and acoustic. An atypical place, it has been able to shape an original personality, thanks to a quality programming, respectful of the repertoire and open to contemporary creation. The first structure to be labeled by the State as a "lyrical stage" and member of the Operas de France meeting, it is now a place of reference for artistic production, welcoming nearly 40,000 spectators each season.
