Exclusive screening of the iakoute film The sun never sets above my head, 2019 ▪ Sakha Cinema – Iakoutie (Russia) in Paris
Exclusively for JEP 2022, the Russian Orthodox Spiritual and Cultural Centre in Paris in collaboration with the Ministry of External Relations and Ethnic Affairs of the Republic of Sakha – Yakutia (Russian Federation) and production company SAKHA FILM present the screening of the feature film The Sun Never Goes Down Above My Head, 2019. The first film directed by Lyubov Borissova after Nikolai Luguinov’s short story «The Stone Cape», he won the hearts of spectators and juries at several Festivals around the world.
Synopsis: Following the dispute with his father, the young Altan goes to work in the far north. He is preparing to spend a month in solitude but in a short time he meets a neighbor Baibal. The old man came here to spend the end of his life. One day Altan learns that the daughter of Baibal disappeared very young. So he convinces the old man to create a video blog to try to find her but also prolong her life.
