The Town Hall of Pantin embodies an important period of change in the systems of representation of municipal power during the Third Republic, both in terms of its location and its architecture. The choice of the site, halfway between the old centre and the district of Quatre-Chemins, between the canal and the recent railway tracks, responds to the demands of the inhabitants of Quatre-Chemins, who deplore their enclavity and their distance from public facilities. Based on the classical culture still in force in the last decades of the nineteenth century, the architect designed the town hall in the manner of a small neo-renaissance palace. Composed symmetrically, the building has a central body flanked by two side pavilions located in the forebody. The entrance hall has a central staircase that turns into two lateral flights to access the rooms on the first floor.
