"Women War Photographers": guided tour by the museum director and exhibition curator
With Sylvie Zaidman, director and curator of the exhibition, you will discover the works of renowned women photographers who have covered 75 years of international conflicts: Lee Miller, Gerda Taro, Christine Spengler, Françoise Demulder, Susan Meiselas, Carolyn Cole, Anja Niedringhaus.
More than 80 photographs and a dozen newspapers and magazines highlight the involvement of women in all conflicts, whether they are combatants or witnesses. The exhibition also makes it possible to address the issue of gender and to deconstruct certain stereotypes. Why shouldn’t the profession of war photographer be made for women? Is there a female practice of the profession, a specificity of the female view on the war?
