Galina OULANOVA: “The soul of movement – the movement of the soul”
On January 8, 2020, the world celebrated the 110th anniversary of the great ballerina of the 20th century Galina Oulanova.
“An ordinary goddess,” Tolstoy said of Ulaanova. “A person of another dimension” called her Sergei Eisenstein. «The genius of the Russian ballet, its elusive soul, its inspired poetry» - Sergei Prokofiev.
The photo exhibition dedicated to Galina Oulanova was developed by the State Theatre Museum A. Bakhrouchine using its rich photographic collection. It will include copies of original photos of the illustrious ballerina.
The purpose of this exhibition is not to reproduce in detail the biography of Oulanova, but to focus on the artistic heritage of this exceptional dancer, to allow all lovers of ballet and admirers of Oulanova once again to feel this wonderful personality, whose works have become a phenomenon in choreography and have marked a renewal of the art of ballet.
A section of the exhibition is devoted to his work as a teacher and to his famous pupils: V. Vassilyev, L. Semenyaka, N. Gratcheva, N. Tsiskaridze and others.
In addition to photos from the collection of the Bakhrouchine Museum, the exhibition will present photos provided by the photographer of the Bolshoi Theatre M.M. Logvinov (unique portraits and photos of rehearsals). A video containing fragments of the ballets with the participation of Oulanova Giselle, Romeo and Juliet, Chopiniana and others will complete the exhibition.
