The history of the Coliseum of Light dates back to 1920, when a lot on Montgolfier Street was sold to build a people’s house, La Fraternelle. it consists of a concert hall of a grocery store and a estaminet. a meeting room completes the set. It was sold in 1930 and became a cinema under the name of Coliseum which closed in 1970\. this building will be reborn in 1996 thanks to its acquisition by the City. In 2021, the opening of the cinema Le Pont des Arts in the neighbourhood will replace Le Colisée Lumière with its unique cinema.
