Armand Alexandre Joseph Adrien de Caulaincourt de Vicence, the eldest son of the Emperor’s Grand Ecuyer, had the Dome built in the middle of the 19th century to receive the graves of his illustrious family and descendants. Lighted at the top by a lantern canopy, you can admire the marble funeral monument representing the Marquise de Caulaincourt, widow of the Grand Ecuyer and first Duchesse De Vicence. The central altar hides the entrance to the crypt where the family has been buried since 1861.
