Guided tour of the church and the exhibition "Saint-Julien de Royaucourt is discovered in photos and tells its story"
The Gothic church of Saint-Julien de Royaucourt, located about ten kilometres south of Laon, was built at the end of the twelfth century, in the old village of Royaucourt, then modified until the seventeenth century.
Classified as a Historical Monument in 1862, it is located at the junction of the communes of Royaucourt-et-Chailvet and Bourguignon-sous-Montbavin, both of which are responsible for it.
Since 1972, they have been helped by the Association ``Les Amis de l'église St-Julien de Royaucourt, who contributes to the maintenance and restoration of this element of the national heritage and its development in the context of cultural and artistic activities that are widely open to the public.
On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, exhibitions are organized: the opportunity to highlight this heritage and make it known while presenting a facet of its environment.
The guided tour will allow you to explore the different stages of its history and discover the 2022 exhibition dedicated to the church: 72 photos of the Zoom Laonnois and an exhibition on the history of the church More information: https://amis-st-julien-royaucourt.org/evenements-association-amis-saint-julien-royaucourt/
